Cartagena is the most popular tourist resort town in Colombia and is divided into the Old City and the New City (Ciudad Antigua and Ciudad Nueva).
The Old City has beautiful colonial buildings and is enclosed by over 10km of protective wall along a Caribbean harbour. The main entrance to the Old City is by the Clock Tower, which leads onto narrow streets of small cafes to watch the world go by.
